What are the Diets for the People who have Medical Disorders- By Sharman Shiralkar

There are many people who have medical disorders because of many genetic and diet reasons. There are a lot of such disorders that affect that specific person’s daily diet. Some of them are severe with lots of restrictions while some of them aren’t that bad. So, I will be going to 3 medical disorders to specify how they should be eating their food and maintaining their diet based on their medical disorder.

*Food that is recommended for diabetic patients*

  1. How Diabetic patients should maintain their diet

Someone who has diabetes should be eating the healthiest foods in moderate amounts, so if you’re eating fruits, try to select the healthiest fruits like apples and only eat 1/3 of it or two slices. If you’re eating/drinking dairy, dry to find the products with little to no sugar so that you can eat it. Another important suggestion is sticking to regular mealtimes because you don’t want your sugar to spiral all over the place, so if you eat your dinner at 9 PM try having your dinner around that time. Also, you should limit eating too many carbs and sweets as possible since those are the main causes for high blood sugar and fat too. Because of this, you should also be mindful of the carbs and sugar products that can raise blood sugar.

2. How Asthma patients should maintain their diet

Someone who has asthma should be eating less based on their weight because if you’re overweight it can worsen the conditions caused by asthma. After that they should eat more fruits and vegetables than normal because they are a good source of antioxidants that may reduce lung swelling and irritation. After that, they must avoid allergy causing foods like nuts because if their body swells and can’t breathe properly, it can be life threatening since they already have a problem breathing. They also must take a lot of foods which have vitamin D like dairy products, and they should also avoid sulfites.

3. How patients with Heart Problems should maintain their diet

    Someone who has heart problems should be eating an overall healthy eating pattern with consists of a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy products, skinless chicken or fish, nuts, and non-tropical vegetable oils. You should also limit eating food which has saturated and trans-fat, cholesterol, sodium, red meat (beef, mutton, pork), sweets, and sugar sweetened beverages like soda. Then you should use a small plate or a bowl to control your portions so that you can eat more nutrient rich foods like fruits and vegetables and eat less high-calorie and sodium food. Then you guys should maintain a healthy body weight by keeping calories from food balanced while burning calories from doing exercise. You should also consume a variety of fruits and vegetables; they should also be eating whole grains instead of refined grains. Then they should be eating healthy sources of protein such as seafood, plants, fish, and other lean meats. But you should minimize the salt and the sugar added to those foods.
